Haenam County Expands Export of Agricultural and Marine Products to Canada through Partnership with Local Retailer

Haenam County is accelerating efforts to expand exports of its agricultural and marine products by partnering with a local Canadian distributor.

On the 29th, Haenam County announced that it recently signed a business agreement with A-Mart, a leading Korean and Asian food retailer based in Calgary, Canada, during a ceremony held at the County Office.

A-Mart currently operates three stores in Calgary and specializes in distributing Asian food products. Through this agreement, Haenam has laid the foundation for introducing its premium agricultural and marine products to the Canadian market.

As part of the partnership, a promotional event is scheduled for June in Calgary. The event will not only feature product displays and sales but also include cultural promotion activities aimed at introducing Haenam’s rich heritage and history to Canadian consumers. The county plans to utilize video content, media campaigns, and other promotional tools to host a special regional showcase.

The signing ceremony was attended by Haenam County Mayor Myung Hyun-kwan and A-Mart Executive Director Jung Chan-seok. Both parties agreed to collaborate closely on identifying export-ready products and establishing a sustainable cooperation model to expand Haenam’s presence in the global market.
